83. age and decency

Have you ever felt so ridiculous that even going out the door was as hard as looking at yourself in the mirror. I was put in my place yesterday by a young man of this community who had enough of my visits to his site and clearly suggested that at my age i could go visit my grand children or something. The thing is that he spoke the truth. I imagine how Adam and Eve felt when they found out they were naked. They felt shame but they had no post then. So today my issue is age and decency or simply decency, also the ability to sense when we are wanted or not and if visits are appropriate or not. Just like in real life...
Not anything goes. We have to think of what we do and where to express it. This is serious stuff; it will come back to us if not soon but later. So this young person somehow is an angel showing me the path to Internet Enlightenment or my soul. I am joking a bit here. I even dreamt about my site last night. In my dream my entire site was posted on a wall in a public place in view to all but nothing of importance could be seen. Then in a field a young man was playing a game and a women was there also. I was wandering who that women was and he told me it was his mother. The women had a maid uniform and looked poor and uneducated. Could she represent my internet inaptitude therefore myself.
This Xanga thing is getting to me to the point where i seriously think i should get some hobby outside the Internet and perhaps join some kind of gardening community arrangement or a nature society where people watch birds together and talk about them in groups. I realize my concerns are not as big as the sad shooting of yesterday but i can't stop eating because shooting happens all the time anyway. Do you feel uncomfortable sometimes ? .....

that young man was rude and unworthy of your friendship.
@promisesunshine - i see it differently and i am glad he told me his mind. sometimes things can last a long time if we dont deal right away with what's bothering us. sometimes the truth hurts but it helps to clarify uncomfortable situations. That is my point here. i'm flattered you take my side anyway....
real world interaction is nice too though.
I tried having a civil discussion with a "young" person the other day and got banned for my troubles.
The youth of today is impossibly rude and hopelessly butt ignorant.It is they who should go find a new hobby and leave the Internet to those who know how to use it.
You made a good point here. One worth mentioning. We need to create a life for ourselves outside the internet. Otherwise it can become a pretty addictive and compulsive act for us. It can run our lives and distract us from what is more important. That being the reality of the real world outside.
@catstemplar2 - My friend here gives you information worth considering. I am almost 79 and have been retired 17 years. I am very active in Xanga and have many nice friends here. However, I do try to have a good life outside Xanga.
I am sure you will find the balance.
I am sorry you had this upsetting experience.
blessings,
frank
@At_Sixes_And_Sevens - I'd like to see your avant whatchamacallit recognized for it's worth... :)
@PrisonerxOfxLove - ok grampa...
@catstemplar2 - i agree the Internet can be very addictive even more so than coffee..
@ANVRSADDAY - Yes, a balance is what we have to seek for and i realize that an effort is involved in maintaining it...i appreciate your encouragement...thanks for visiting....
@locomotiv - Ouch!
i did not see what this guy said but i agree that it does seem kind of rude.
the internet has become some what of my home...i can finaly be free to exspress myself as i see fit.
most of my life i held in my thoughts and for that i just have. anger issues .
Don't spend more time on xanga than you do in real life.
I enlarged the low res photo and what did I see? A blurry bucktoothed face to the right of the red petaled flower.
I don't know, part of being a commenter is to entertain the blog writer and part is to offer advice. Well if you tell us more how to comment then yeah your command is what I will try to aim for.
@Mind_of_Eplx - at last humanity has someone to talk to..the Internet. We have entered an era of sharing with our fellow being so much more than before. I feel we, as people are more equal because of it. I'm glad you can pour your heart into it..
@KnightInCROATIANarmor - That's a good attitude. Also we must be able to know the difference between the two. I mean real life, and online..
@PPhilip - You're very good at finding stuff on my stuff. After 5 minutes staring at these flowers i think i found that bucktoothed face. I wish i could give you a Noble Prize for playfulness...
@locomotiv - Yeah
At least you draw.
@sleekpunk - at least i draw (:
