  • 99. friday ramblings

There was a man i knew by sight that had a big belly, big enough to be called voluminous. I was just a child then. He was passing our house, and behind the window i was thinking what would happen if one day he would explode. Such a passage is hard to elaborate and to make a story of. Was his belly full of air, or.. ? Quotes of the day not all by me:

    1. Among other things life consist in not being understood

    2. Like a cow waiting in a field for the grass to grow..

    3. Individuals like nations have egos

    4. Inequality is a human creation

I'm thinking of making a post on mothers jealous of their own daughters but dont know how to do it without sounding like a retard. Or why to rec without commenting is unwelcome. Among other things, it is unwelcome because there is no way to know if the person has read the post or not. Think...How is it possible to know without words or body language, facial expression or sound. A rec is too easy. We have to explain things. Things done to us cannot be figured out with someone else silence. If it is worthy of a rec, then it should be worthy of the effort of an explanation...For example i know what red traffic lights are for. I will not question them or be annoyed at them because they dont tell me why i have to stop. They are things so they cant talk. But humans who rec without talking behave like post signs: they show themsleves without explanations.

A rec without an explanation would be like critics that would not talk. So they would be silent critics, that is God really...something we have to accept without knowing why... just because. But humans are not god so they have to explain why they do things to others; we have to use words. I will finish here abrubtly...i must go...

Inequality, aka diversity is an attribute of the cosmos. Human beings had nothing to do with it.

  • wyrdkismet

some posts don't need words, just a rec says it all.

  • JadeMaster2

    Well put, and thought provoking.

  • locomotiv

@wyrdkismet - i dare say it is wrong... after all i tried to explain.... Unless  it it has been recognized and certified that recs means you are sincere it dont mean nothing...read again pease...

  • locomotiv

@PrisonerxOfxLove - You see it on the point of view of science..we could argue until we turn blue in the face...humans are also part of the cosmos and they show signs of inequalities in their behaviors...that's for sure....

  • locomotiv

@JadeMaster2 - I'm not being sarcastic..your new profile picture reminds me of someone selling exotic carpets with complicated designs...it looks good...

  • PrisonerxOfxLove

@locomotiv - Science tells the truth about reality.  Human philosophy cannot contradict science if it want to be credible.

Human beings have the same nature, but we all have different abilities talents and motivations.

You are a great artist.  I am not.  That is inequality.
  • locomotiv

@PrisonerxOfxLove - i understand that kind of inequality among people..i have a problem with being a great artist though..thanks anyway if it's sincere...

Though I am one to appreciate the words (and the implied/perceived intent behind the words) paired with a rec, I expect some not to trust themselves to find adequate enough words, and the rec is all they can muster to show appreciation. Yes, there is a possibility that some people throw around words lightly or even flat out use them disingenuously like a rec can potentially be used.

Have you had experience with your mother being jealous of you? I was wondering if that is the reason for you to make a post about that?

  • locomotiv

@angys_coco - You are insightful and you know how to discern. Yes my mother was a person lacking confidence in herself and it make her compare herself with other women, unfortunately with her own children. I wrote once a post on the subject but am tempted to write another one..There are sites on the Internet on the subjects of jealous mothers and i find them fascinating..

  • locomotiv

@sleekpunk - A little masterpiece in one short paragraph ! I feel it is exactly what i wanted to convey. I had to look the word "disingenuously": not straightforward or candid, insincere or calculating. As always you are introducing new words into my life. I feel you deserve a rec for your concise verve..i hope you dont mind....thanks..

Somehow I missed the posting of your blog and your rec to sleekpunk got me to come on over to your blog.

Wow you are coming to #100. Congratulations ahead of time.
Your peacock drawing is part of your strength. I think your human portrayal is too harsh to my eyes. (then again artists have artistic perogative and should be allowed to draw anything).
This is your blog and your topic on jealousy is a minefield. I try to avoid jealous at all costs. The further away from that sin, the better for me and the ones around me. Playing favortism can cause jealousy, I am working to not play favorites and so far I am losing it a bit.
I am of the school in which the less you say is better. However if you feel the freedom to express yourself, expression helps to make clearly what you are saying.
I don't know if I have abused my rec record here at xanga but let me say that today was one of the few recs that you have done that I have noticed. You have not abused your rec privilege and I am glad you hesitate to use it too freely.
  • locomotiv

@PPhilip - The word "favoritism" drew my attention. I personnally think that to favor someone  must have a selfish motivation down the path. So yes it is better not to have favorites, as having favorites must be a self seeking game. Really we are all worthy of admiration at some time in our lives and after all computations one human is equally worth another. You're right i dont rec often...but when i rec, by Jove do  i rec... thanks for the lovely rec

When I'm looking for a good movie, I just look for a four stars recommendation and don't bother to actually read the review.

  • locomotiv

@dingus6 - I've noticed that a four stars movie is a sure sign of quality..
